Make Me Smile Monday

I'm just about to head outside with R and J. They've got their little camera (a gift from my dad and his wife) and are going to take some pictures out in the back yard while I cut the edges around the garden and turn the soil. I do realize it's late in the season for this, but I determined this year not to allow my garden to make me fall behind on my house work the way it always has in previous years. Today even though I do have a reasonably sized to-do list for the indoors it's short enough that I can afford to spend a good chunk of my day working in my garden while the kids play. I'm looking forward to getting out in the fresh air and watching the little patch of land transform as it gets cleaned up to showcase the beautiful flowers already in bloom (lemon lilies) and the peonies that should be open within the next week!

This Clematis is new to my garden. It was just planted at the end of last summer  I can't wait for it to bloom! :)
